Photography Competition

At the end of the page there are a list of the current participants,

The competition theme is "Freedom of thought" its a hard challenge to photographers! Such a detailed theme, this is by itself a test for innovation. We know it would be difficult but the beauty of the photos we are receiving till now makes all the difference.

We rely on you to recommend any modifications or enhancement to the photography competition.

I have participated in the competition I Hope I win :).

And I think we should all work together to create a society, where people rights are reserved and protected! And where our concern is to create a secure country where all people meet… If will look and analyze will discover that we are all equal, and equality is not a choice it is a fact. The stage that man can control his/her instinct, and prevent his/her instinct from controlling him/her, man can become critical.

Could BW win against Colored photos in a Competition!

Which one has deeper feeling in reflecting emotions?

Does a combination of colors respect over emotions? Which might be misleading !

Most juried art show that I have entered have separate categories for B&W and color as well as film versus digital but I have seen examples where any of the different categories have taken Best in Show so it is really up to the preference of the judge.

I guess the short answer is; It is a toss up.

I personally feel that B&W has more emotion but that is just my opinion.

mygigi says:
heck yeah!!

I agree that you can show a depth of emotion in a B&W that can sometimes be distracted away from by color.

El Waka says:
Why is it always the same discussion over and over? Would you say that painting with oil reflects more feelings than painting with chineese ink? Is an oven better than a microwave?
Sorry Phoenician origin, this is not personal, i just have the impression to have already read to same subject about a dozen times.
In order to respond to the subject, i'll say that you can produce deep feelings with both, color and b&w but by different ways.
Also, it may be easier for a begginer like me to "produce" feelings using b&w because you don't have to think about the colors in your composition, just the texture and the subject.

sorry for my english and if i sounded rude, i'm sorry for that too.

No, I agree. Who cares? One isn't better than the other, they're just different. Why can't we just let it be at that?

Ottoman42 says:
Of course it can. But al always it depends on the competition.

PS do you really need all that punctuation in the title? I mean seriously. We can all read and if your title interests us we'll read it. Not because it has so many ! or ?.

i second that, ottoman.

googoz says:
It depends on who is the judge, an ordinary person or an artist. Different person has different view.

In many juried comps the judges are artists, many who earn a living doing something else or are retired from same.

I definitely think so only because you get so much more expression through BLack and WHite

Mark H says:
Exactly! This is such a moot point. Sometimes color is better at expressing emotion (eg Moulin Rouge, even though it is motion picture the point remains) and sometimes black & white is better. And sometimes black & white with isolated color is best (Schrindler's List). Why do we have to compare?

WOOT - The winner in this week's Themed Competition group is a BW!

PHOENICIAN Origin says:
thnx all for your comments.....

I guess as has been said BW may be more reflective to emotions specifically portraits... but its a challenge to capture a colored emotion.

I wonder if in the "Freedom of Thought" competition what would be best to use a BW or BW colored or simply a colored photo in order to capture the expression of thought which is related to freedom... This is a challenge by itself and I love to see you all cracking it in this international competition.

genetically enhanced fast growing, hard-wood trees!

EGTY trading volume is beginning to surge with landslide Announcement.
The value of this Stoc,k appears poised for growth! This one will not
remain on the ground floor for long.

KEEP READING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

-Energy and Asset Technology, Inc. (EGTY) owns a global license to market
the genetically enhanced Global Cedar growth trees, with plans to
REVOLUTIONIZE the forest-timber industry.

These newly enhanced Globa| Cedar trees require only 9-12 years of growth
before they can be harvested for lumber, whereas worldwide growth time for
lumber is 30-50 years.

Other than growing at an astonishing rate, the Global Cedar has a number
of other benefits. Its natural elements make it resistant to termites, and
the lack of oils and sap found in the wood make it resistant to forest fire,
ensuring higher returns on investments.
he wood is very lightweight and strong, lighter than Poplar and over twice
as strong as Balsa, which makes it great for construction. It also has
the unique ability to regrow itself from the stump, minimizing the land and
time to replant and develop new root systems.

Based on current resources and agreements, EGTY projects revenues of $140
Million with an approximate profit margin of 40% for each 9-year cycle. With
anticipated growth, EGTY is expected to challenge Deltic Timber Corp. during
its initial 9-year cycle.

Deltic Timber Corp. currently trades at over $38.00 a share with about $153
Million in revenues. As the reputation and demand for the Global Cedar tree
continues to grow around the world EGTY believes additional multi-million
dollar agreements will be forthcoming. The Global Cedar nursery has produced
about 100,000 infant plants and is developing a production growth target of
250,000 infant plants per month.

Energy and Asset Technology is currently in negotiations with land and business
owners in New Zealand, Greece and Malaysia regarding the purchase of their popular
and profitable fast growing infant tree plants. Inquiries from the governments of
Brazil and Ecuador are also being evaluated.

The examples above show the Awesome, Earning Potential of little
known Companies That Explode onto Investors Radar Screens.
This s-t0ck will not be a Secret for long. Then You May Feel the Desire to Act Right
Now! And Please Watch This One Trade!!
